Parents should put down their phones and help solve Australia’s writing crisis

At a national level, students’ writing ability has declined each year for the last eight years. For students in year 7, this is the backdrop of their life at school.
In 2024, these year 7 students will graduate. If there is no change to this trend, they will lead a wave of students exiting school not able to write to the minimum standard.
