Managing water levels at Lake Eildon – new update as level hits 97%

Post Date: June 22, 2023

Releases have varied in recent weeks and have increased to the current rate of 12,000 ML/d in response to increased inflow conditions.

Given the current volume is above the 1 July filling target, releases are expected to remain high, around 12,000 ML/d for the coming weeks.

Any changes to the releases through to the end of June will vary according to inflows to the storage and take into account flows into the Goulburn River from downstream tributaries.

There is potential for releases above the minor flood level if significant rain events are experienced, particularly in the late winter or spring, as the storage will likely be operating at a higher level in accordance with the filling target obligations.
