Regional Victoria will host its first major boating event with the announcement of next month’s Lake Eildon Boating & Fishing Show.

The Lake Eildon Boating & Fishing Show will take place from Friday October 11 to Sunday October 13 and is expected to attract over 8,000 boating enthusiasts to the area across the three days.

“We’re so proud to support the Melbourne Boat Show and bring this fantastic event to regional Victoria,” says Minister for Regional Development, Jaclyn Symes.

“The Lake Eildon Boating & Fishing Show will not only showcase the beautiful waterways of Lake Eildon, but bring visitors to the region and support local businesses.”

For CEO of the Boating Industry Association of Victoria, Steve Walker, Lake Eildon was a natural choice for the first regional boat show of this size.

“We also conduct the Melbourne Boat Show which is one of the biggest and most successful events on the exhibition calendar, attracting generations of boating enthusiasts in its 59 years of operation. This new event, however, will include two key features that Melbourne cannot – a massive houseboat display with over $10m worth of houseboats to view and a thirty-boat demonstration area in Houseboat Harbour for punters to view, test and just maybe, buy, a ski, wake, cruising or fishing boat!” says Walker.

The event will be held at The Houseboat Harbour (often referred to as the Alliance Boat Ramp) just beneath the Eildon Dam Wall and will feature everything from fishing and ski boat demonstrations, water-sports, houseboating, cruising and fishing vessels, boating equipment, electronics, entertainment, Twilight Cinema, special School’s Day, the Waterfront Bar & Cafe and fireworks.  The event is family friendly and completely free. Fishing identities, Rex Hunt and Lee Rayner, are proud ambassadors of the Show.
