On Friday September 13th Murrindindi Film Society will end it’s current season with a screening of Paul Cox’s 2000 film “Innocence”.  The screening will again take place in the supper room behind the Town Hall and doors will be open at 6.45 p.m.

Described as an autumnal love story, it follows the relationship of two people who were lovers in their youth and meet again later in life.

Bud Tingwell plays Andreas, a widower going through a reflective period.   He is reunited with Claire (Julia Blake), who is in a long term marriage which she feels will “see her out”.   Their young love is re-ignited  and they embark on an affair as reckless as it was in their youth.

This is told through the details of the daily lives of these two people and the effects  it has on Claire’s  husband (Terry Norris) and their children, played by Robert Menzies and Marta Dusseldorp. The film never loses sight of humour even in the most fraught situations,  and was described “a song of joy and hope, and like its characters it is grown-up.”

We  hope as many members as possible will be able to view this warm and touching look at love at an older age.
