Wild Storm Hits Yea, Hospital Roof Damaged – Pictures

Heavy rain and gale force winds hit Yea at around 6.15pm on Monday night.

Around 36mm of rain was recorded in only 30-40 minutes. Flash flooding occurred in many streets. Wind gusts were recorded at almost 90kph.

Total rainfall for Monday was approximately 44mm.

The hospital roof was damaged after lightning struck the roof at the rear of the hospital. A vehicle in the hospital car park was lucky to escape without damage when a large branch fell beside it. Many trees were damaged around the town, including the High St. area. There was also a report of a house window being blown in.

    Did the Caravan Park get flooded out?

      Not sure how bad the flooding was. Apparently some damage to caravans from branches.
